zapytanko asked: also i understand that vipassanna meditation does not focus on observing emotions and body , just thoughts (and breath) - why ?
is it not more holistic to observe all 3 layers (thoughts, emtions and body) rather then just thoughts ?

Meditation is making the mind still. no observations at all. as the mind lets a thought in you gently push it away. Kind of like a room filled with monkeys. as you let the monkeys out there is more stillness. if the monkey comes back again… let him out. as you get more adept there will be less monkeys trying to get in. Breath-work is great… it gives you a focus to keep the mind still. Mindfulness meditation is Metta… sending out loving kindness to all beings. Vipassana is walking meditation or being aware of the moment, all that you are doing and what is happening around you; ie: how did you dress yourself left sock first or right? did you even notice?

OK the reason you are only observing thought is because that is where the Ego manifests itself, of where you manifest your ego LOL. Put some trust in the wisdom of others on that point, that alone will help the process. The belief that you are capable of conqouring your ego without help or a few leaps of faith will stand in your way.
Mindfulness is in itself a meditation. When you eat a carrot, you are mindful of where it was bought, how it made its way from the farm to the shop, how it was harvested, how long it took to grow, how often it was watered, how the seed was sown. All the people and the resorces used just to deliver you with a carrot. The same for any action you do. When you wash a dish, you are aware of the chemicals you are useing, you are careful of you actions, the only words in your head should be describing the very action you are doing in that very moment. It is, in my opinion the greatest of meditation. Infact many masters will tell you that it is the only meditation.
As for breath integration, I have not heard the phrase. I would imagine you are talking about becoming aware of your breath, being mindful of what it is your body does without you knowing is important, you grow your hair but you do not decide to do so, great misteries are uncovered when you understand the riddle of that.
Have fun, enjoy the journey and remember you cant actually fail, you’ve already won, you just dont belive it yet, and thats OK too. You are already one with the universe and god as a wave is the sea. The wave does not know it is the sea, if it did it may see all the other waves and say ‘I am a wave’ but this would not change the fact that it is the sea.
