I am a Buddhist and practice meditation every day. The benefit is the calming of the mind, which in turn will make you a happier person. The improved disposition will help you display more kindness and compassion to others, and because of this you will benefit with good Karma.

Physically - Yoga (and anything that requires balance), works your “core” region. (thighs, flexors, abs, butt, etc).
It can also be a great cardio workout - depending on the program. It doesnt always take running/jumping to get the heart rate up.

Yoga is a mental excercise as well as a physical excercise.
The best technique for any person contemplating to take up yoga is not to contemplate but to concentrate - on how yoga and its techniques is escalating into a world wide epidemic where yoga exercises are helping ailing patients and others who seek peace of mind.

another benefit to yoga is enhanced concentration. so basically you are able to focus and concentrate under stressful conditions with more ease. At least that’s why I do it

“Prayer is when man talks to infinity.
Meditation is when the mind becomes totally clean and receptive, and Infinity talks to man.”
This quote says it all about the benefits.
