Yo asked:
I’m curious if anyone knows if there is a certain kind of yoga that specifically helps individual with bad backs, and if this yoga, when practiced, has similiar effects to receiving an adjustment from a chiropractor? (complete with the cracking of the spine?)
Thanks.

Yoga in one of its parts is a slow, controlled method of ensuring body health. Provide you are patient and perform SIMPLE asanas (postures) ideally under supervision from a qualified teacher then Yoga will help you.
Asanas come in various forms, bending, twisting etc get Light on Yoga by BKS Ijenga from your library this explains the benefits of each posture. The link below may also help.

Yoga or other types of exercise may very well complement a chiropractic adjustment, but it would not be a substitute for a quality chiropractic adjustment. The stretching and strengthening of muscles would help in allowing an adjustment to “hold” for longer if the exercises are done correctly. Performing exercises improperly or over-doing it could have the reverse effect. I hope this helps.
