I just started taking a yoga class for beginners. I really enjoy it however, I am trying to get pregnant?

yoga toes
Fancee Kidd asked:

If and when that happens can I still enroll in the beginning yoga class? I know people offer yoga for pregnecy however my gym doesn’t offer that type of class. What moves in beginning yoga can a pregnent woman do? Which moves should I stay away from. Remember I am only a beginner I can’t even touch the toes yet!

Talk with the instructor and tell him/her about your situation. If she is a good instructor, she will be able to instruct you on how to modify certain poses or which poses to avoid. An instructor (doesn’t matter if she is a yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, step or whatever instructor) should be certified and have experience and knowledge of how to advise her students in these special certain circumstances so that each student will know that he/she can participate at their own level and know that no injury or harm will result.

    Ditto with what Kokopeli said!

I go to classes where some of the instructors are pregnant, so they’re very in tuned to what should and should not be done. Not to mention, they still kick everyone’s butt in the class!

Good luck to you - :o)
