Flexibility and Bikram Yoga?

yoga toes
number_n asked:

I just started going for Bikram Yoga and have done two classes. I realized I am not flexible at all and even have to bend my knees to touch my toes! Before this I did not do any form of exercise. I plan to go for 3 classes a week. How long is it before I get flexible and can touch my toes without bending my knees? Thanks

  1. only diff b/t meds + psn is dose

you will mentally and physically ease into the mindset and ability to stretch and move easily.

3 times a week will put you in a good position to be flexible in a few weeks

That is something that depends on your work ethic & body type but I can give U some pointers that may help U speed it up some.I am known 4 my flexability in my sport.
    1.Warm up
    2.Don’t skip muscles,make sure U get even the 1’s U don’t think U use much.
3.Do not bounce stretch, always static stretch.
4.Try stretching after a hot shower @ night
5.Stretch @ least 2 times a day on stretching days
6.Limit stretching 2 every other day so your muscles can have a day 2 heal.
    Train Hard B Safe!

In no time at all if you keep up 3 class-a-week regimen.

However, you shouldn’t have the mentality of chasing after specific flexibility goals. It’s against the spirit of yoga. Just relax, do the best you can and savor the yoga, and results will show themselves before you even know it.
