am a Hindu Iyengar. deeply religious, regularly performing sandhya etc. I am deeply attracted to mookkuthis (nose pins)so much that I got my nose pierced on both sides and wear mookkuthis occasionally when alone or on a visit to a new town.Does our religion prohibit wearing of mookkuthis by men?Am I committing any sin by this habit?.I am unable to overcome this desire.Shall I continue to wear this ornament occasionally particularly while travelling/visiting temples/new places?.kindly advise.I wear earstuds regularly being a brahmin

It looks awkward a man wearing mukkuthis. You can wear the same when you are alone but not in public. You can find a solution for the mukkuthi paithyam if you marry and present different types of mukkuthis to your wife with a direction to change the mukkuthis as per your wish.

Face is the index of mind. Everybody see face and address. If u r so obsessed with Nose rings. Buy them prensent them to all Godess of variuos temple. Being a male it wont look good on ur face but would be radiant with Godess’s face.
Each time u see them u will be happy that u have given them ur gift. Perhaps this is the best way to use ur obession and get enhanced in devotion.

Better to curb a desire which is likely to attract public criticism.

It is a harmless obsession, and it will fade away with time. However, don’t indulge in it in public.

I agree with MLM. What he suggests is a good idea to get rid of obsessions. Also, your pocket will be so much lighter after a few donations that you will automatically stop this habit !
