TK Raamaswaamy Aiyyangaar - A great vainika and composer of the late 19th and early 20th century, he was from Srirangam. His guru was Veena Seshanna. He was a contemporary of Tiger Varadachariyar and Boodalur Krishnamoorthy Sastrigal, and all of them taught in Chennai, including at Kalakshetra. Married to Padmasani Ammal, father of R. Vedavalli, the popular current vocalist. Disciples include Rama Ravi, Mani Krishnaswamy, Adayar K. Lakshman.

It was the practice at the Srirangam Ranganatha temple to allow only family members or the musical descendants of Veena Ramaswamy Iyengar to perform during Ekanta Seva. Once Vai Mu Kothanayaki Ammal was given an opportunity to perform there and, in the event, her performance during this service became a regular feature.
