Ayurveda is a practice of alternative medicine. As far as useful medicinal plants, it depends on what you are looking to treat. The medicinals typically are used in conjunction with meditation, bodywork, and gentle exercise such as yoga. It works by creating a mind-body connection to prevent illness on emotional, physical, and spiritual levels. is a good resource to get you started. It has some good links for any information that is not on the site.
